The best vending locations are...

It's hard to tell whether a location will be good or not because you can't be there 24 hours a day.

We were allowed to put a vending machine in the walkway of an office level. When we arrived with the machine, the level had a few offices and a couple of classrooms but not a lot of people roaming about. We decided to leave the machine there to see how it went.

When we returned a month later, the vending machine was nearly empty. We found out that the classrooms get used only for night school and there are lots of students roaming the hallwalks looking for food at that time of night. Sometimes you just never know.

Where are the best vending locations?

1. The best vending locations are likely to be in public locations

2. Locations where there are lots of passing pedestrian traffic

3. The location should be vibrant and busy

4. It helps if the location has a lack of alternatives e.g its not going to help having a coke machine near a McDonalds or a snack machine near a food court

5. Having a younger crowd (and children) using your vending machine because they are more likely to spend than most

6. Where there is a large number of staff at a location (who use the machine) as well as passing traffic

7. Where the staff look after your vending machine and call you when your vending machine is empty or broken

8. Where the location is easy to access at most times of the day

9. Where it is easy to get to and from the machine

10. When you can build up a good relationship with the staff at the location
