There are many places where your vending machine can be profitable. Here is a brief list that we will continue to add to.
Shopping centres - are great because of passing traffic. It also gets the school holiday peak traffic as well. However, a lot of centres have exclusive contracts with large vending operators so you won't even get in the door.
Chicken shops - good chicken shops get a lot of daily customers. Just be mindful that you'll have to clean your vending machine regularly because of all the oil that will stick to your vending machine..
Sport centres - great if you can get yourself a sport centre because there are lots of kids who will use your vending machine. Again, the problem is most centres have exclusive arrangements or the centre already has its quota of vending machines.
Car dealerships - better if you can secure one of the larger car dealerships with lots of sales staff.
Staff and corporate lunch rooms - staff and corporate lunch rooms can be a bit hit and miss. Keep to businesses with lots of staff. Worth a try.
Swimming pools / aquatic centres - similar comment to the sport centre. Great if you can get them.
Car garages / mechanic stores - in general, a vending machine in a car or mechanic's garage will be under average compared with the rest of your vending machines. Yes, there might always be people waiting for their cars to be fixed but how many people actually pass by the machine compared to a shopping centre?
Doctor’s offices / medical centres - as long as the doctor's office or medical centre has a lot of patients each day, you should have an average to slightly under average vending machine
Retail shops - such as a clothing store, records store, make up stores, shoes stores etc. When people go into these stores, they get distracted by so many things that they tend to walk by your vending machine. As people don't go into these stores specifically to use a vending machine, retail stops generally are under average performers.
Bars and Clubs - are generally average to above average vending machines. Bars and clubs attract both casual and regular clientele who already have their wallets out to spend.
