It’s all about sales...

Just like in any small business, you need to be comfortable with selling yourself and your service. In vending, you need to be comfortable asking and negotiating with shop owners and managers to allow you to place a vending machine on their premises.

You may already have some experience with sales which is a great start. You will put your skills into practice. If you are new to sales or have no experience then you should get some sales reading material. Of course, you will learn as you go, but having basic sales skills goes a long way to improving your success in building your vending business.

In our experience, the key element that will determine whether you run a successful vending business or an average one is persistence.

Let me start by asking you a question…

You go out looking for vending machine locations…How do you feel after asking 10 locations to place a machine and these 10 locations said NO? How do you feel if you ask 20 locations and these 20 locations said NO? How about 40 locations or even 100 locations?

Yikes!! This will happen...but it happens to all of us so don't worry.

Getting rejection after rejection...after rejection is demoralising. Will you get frustrated? Will you give up? Or will you continue to try?

We had a day where we cold called something like 35 locations in the space of 3 to 4 hours without success. It's a long day in the office when this happens...
